Christian Bury, Student of the Week!

I feel so fortunate to have Christian Bury as my student! In a few short years, he has grown to understand so much about the piano and to play with feeling and energy. Here he is playing two songs, both of which are in difficult arrangements!

Christian wants to try everything that the world has to offer – especially in sports! He has a purple belt in karate, loves figure skating and lately is very into soccer. Christian is dreaming of participating in the Ninja Warrior Competitions. He is always determined to do his best and is also very polite and funny!

Intro to Singing – Carol Cybulska, Guest Teacher

Please join us on Sunday, December 20 at 4:15 for an Intro to Singing Class offered by my wonderful colleague, Carol Cybulska. Many of you will recognize Carol from the South Shore Music Teachers Association Recitals, where her students always perform so beautifully and naturally.

No prior singing experience is necessary and the workshop is offered tuition-free! Please download the flyer below or ask me for more information!

Student of the Week – Naomi Mulder

Naomi is the youngest of the Mulder children, and has just started piano lessons at age four! Listen to her amazing duets! What’s the most wonderful part is that Naomi is studying remotely with Kathleen “Kathy” Massoud, who lives in New Bedford. And guess what? Kathy was Amara’s piano teacher when she was growing up! So, clearly, Kathy is a fantastic pianist, teacher and composer. And, Kathy is an old friend and colleague of Mrs. Barr’s! Please keep up the great work, Naomi!

Student of the Week – Jacqui O’Leary

Jacqui O’Leary is 17 years old and a senior at Thayer Academy in Braintree. She has been studying piano for eleven years. Jacqui is an avid animal lover and has shown and placed her dogs in 4H Competitions. She is ultra-creative, making wood paintings and maintaining native gardens. She loves the out-of-doors, spending time in Maine and practicing piano. Jacqui recently prepared a video of three polished pieces to add to her college application portfolio! The Satie is one of those videos.
