Our Spring Recital and Graduating Senior Bell Presentation

On Friday, May 19, 2023, at the James Library in Norwell, MA, we held our Spring Recital and Graduating Senior Bell Presentation for Rebecca Murray and David Won Jr. Student composer Liam posed with David who performed “Midnight Op. 14 by Liam Anderson. Congratulations to all: Allie, Liam, David Jr., David Sr., Rebecca, Linux, Winter, Micah, Eliza, Clayton, Naomi, Amara and Christian!!!! Welcome to Thisbe, who will start lessons in the fall!

“Honoring Those Before Us”

Our winter recital took place on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the James Library. It was a special occasion indeed. Everyone played music by Native American composers or music based on Native American vocable themes. It was a moving and heartwarming display of deep expression on these beautiful pieces!

Two Amazing Playathons!

Congratulations ALL on two successful Playathons, sponsored by South Shore Music Teachers Association on November 19 (First Parish Norwell) and Dec. 3 (First Parish Scituate) – to raise money for Father Bill’s/MainSpring House facilities. You were all so giving and played and sang straight from the heart! Music for Good! We’ve raised over $4400 for these two facilities!!

Thank you Amara, Eliza, Rebecca, Naomi, Clayton, Micah, Winter, Liam, Linux, Thisbe (Special Guest,) Allie, David Sr., Diana, David Jr., Christian, Lauren and Guy (alternate event.) There were two trios, two duets and voice/piano in the mix! Thank you to all who participated and so generously donated!

Congratulations on Two Beautiful Potpourri Recitals!

On Sunday, October 30, ten students from the Alison S. Barr Music Associates studio played on two South Shore Music Teachers Association “Potpourri Recitals,” gathering great praise and compliments. In all, about thirty students representing six teachers participated and the students all took home “goodie bags.” The recital was held at First Parish Scituate. Many students came in costume! Thanks to all who performed:
